On Monday night, the Magnificent Seven once again rode off into the distance with a piece of silverware. This time it was the North East Futsal Champions Trophy as they defeated Heworth Grange School from Gateshead in a very close encounter. Harry Renwick was outstanding in goal making save after save to keep the team in the match. Defenders Dodds (C) and Smith were immense in defence with some great last ditch tackles. Graham and Lowes in midfield bossed the centre of the park with inch perfect passes. Dodds (L) and Barton up front took the glory with the all important strikes on goal in a thrilling 3-3 match. And so it went down to penalties… The team from Gateshead went first and hit the post, up stepped Graham and smashed it into the top corner, 1-0. They scored next but Luke Dodds put the lime greens 2-1 up. Their last penalty went in, leaving it for Callum Dodds to stroke the winning shot into the net and seal the victory in the most dramatic manner!! The team now move onto the Northern England Finals at the end of April where they will play teams from Northumberland, Teesside, Cumbria and North Yorkshire.
