The County Durham Indoor Rowing Championships

The County Durham Indoor Rowing Championships took place at Maiden Castle last week. Secondary schools from all over the county sent students to compete in this very competitive annual event. Bobby Guy in Year 8 was representing the Durham Federation and his race was a three minute challenge to see how far he could row. In the qualifying round, Bobby managed to row 719 metres in the allocated time, this time he was up against 15 other students, many of whom row for clubs within the county. In a very close race, Bobby smashed his personal best and rowed for 734 metres finishing in a very credible 6th place. Bobby was presented with his certificate in assembly, Congratulations..
