Crazy Cyclone Causes Chaos at Cross Country

Winter arrived with a howling wind and sleeting rain as our brave athletes from both Colleges arrived at a very wet and windy Framwellgate School on Wednesday morning at the Durham Schools Cross Country Championships. There were three age categories for our students, Year 10-11, Year 8-9 and Year 7. The courses ranged from 2 miles to 1 mile and the going was described as soft – heavy in places. There were puddles all over the course, hills of mud as well as driving wind and sleet which certainly made the races quite challenging! Our students bravely arrived at the start line wearing hats, gloves and full tracksuits and some even managed to finish the race with both of their shoes still on their feet!
