As discussed in other sections there The Durham Federation provide a lot of support for students to succeed within school. However, there will be times when new concerns arise. As a result we encourage you to contact Mrs L Smith the SENCO to enable us to target the appropriate interventions that are required.
Identifying students with SEND
We take information from a range of sources when establishing if a child has specific SEND needs. These sources include:
- Primary Schools.
- Standardised tests, (including literacy/numeracy tests, ‘value added’ measures reading age test and SATs results).
- Individual teachers and departments.
- Pupils themselves.
- Outside Agencies.
- In-College monitoring.
- MET team.
- SEND Team.
